Bones in Bloom

by Dr. Kate Szymanski

Artist’s Statement:

I enjoyed making this as it was a way to balance my joy in anatomy and embroidery. I loved that the flowers were where the lungs would be located. It felt symbolic of the need to balance our lives with the natural world for healthy air for us to breathe.

Dr. Kate Syzmanski is an Associate Professor of Family Medicine and Geriatric Medicine in the Department of Family Medicine at the UTCOMLS.
