Artist’s Statement:
Peace Amidst Chaos illustrates the precious moments that we as medical students find to center ourselves among our many competing priorities and responsibilities. Its backdrop is comprised of newspaper articles detailing negative news and tragedies of everyday life. At the center, the lamb stands calmly. She embodies our shared quest to ground ourselves amidst the relentless noise we face as we study and train to serve our communities. This piece is an invitation: The viewer is welcome to pause, breathe, and reclaim a moment of peace whether you are in the middle of a busy clinic, difficult day of studying, or carrying the unseen weight of caring for others.
